The Cultural Center of the Philippines, with support from Charter Ping An Insurance Corporation, presents the first retrospective exhibition of painter Antonio Austria entitled 6 Decades of A.G. Austria. The exhibit will run from 7 May to 10 July 2016 at the CCP’s Bulwagang Juan Luna (Main Gallery) and Pasilyo Guillermo Tolentino (3F Hallway Gallery).

Spanning a period of six decades, the exhibit will feature the artists’ paintings that are “compact masterpieces depicting various aspects, moods, scenarios, social and religious values of the urban Filipino…” Also included are drawings and memorabilia that reveal Austria’s creative process and his development as an artist who began painting in the 1950’s and continues to paint to this day. Aside from the artist’s and his family’s collection, other featured artworks will be borrowed from both institutional and private collections.
